Green Cleaning for Municipalities
Karen Rozmus

Ms. Rozmus discussed the formation of the Oak Park green cleaning program, which was implemented quickly and successfully by staff. It was noted that contractors need vigilant monitoring and that despite all of the certifications, it can be hard to figure out which products are green. You can also save some heartache by including a little bit of flexibility. There may be some product groups that do not have an equivalent no or low VOC alternative. It was also noted that it is very important to seize on every opportunity to educate staff and ther stakeholders. Clean Air Counts Communities provide a side by side case study looking at 5 communities in the attached document.
